Lake Crescent
Crescent Lake was carved out by a glacier. The water is crystal clear and cold.
We arrived at the ranger station and located the trail head. It was a beautiful day for a hike.
The trail is 1.4 miles one way and was an easy hike for the most part.....however, there is a steep 400 foot elevation climb the last eighth of a mile to the 90 foot falls.
At the beginning of the hike there was a tunnel that went under the main road that lead to the trail. The trail was wide, flat and really pretty. Turns out we liked the lush forest on this hike better than the others we had been in. They were all pretty, but this one was our favorite so far.
Some really big trees in this forest!
Lots of ferns and ground cover.
Some interesting sights along the way.
This huge tree had only a small top in it.
Look at the size of the tree trunk in relation to the bridge steps.
Looks a little narrow to me!.....and it shook when you walked.
I gotta do what? Again?
Okay guys, this is where the fun begins. I don't think I realized how far 400' straight up really is.
Marymere Falls
Another successful trip to another gorgeous waterfall.
Heading back.....
Alan said....'get up!"
.....its all downhill now!
