Heading North

Our first day on the road was Saturday.  We stopped for the night in Lake City, FL to visit Alan's sister Linda.  We also got to see his youngest sister Jane and our nieces and great nephews.  We enjoyed seeing everyone.

We left the next morning heading north towards our next campground destination in Manchester, TN. We stayed at a KOA campground that we had stayed at once before.  It was a long day on the road, but we covered a lot of miles and we made it out of Georgia.

Our second day on the road took us through Nashville, TN just after morning rush hour in a light rain.  Now that was fun!

We decided to stop in Whittington, Ill. at a really nice campground  with lots amenities including a swimming pool.  However, it is cool and overcast up here today, so I won't be doing any swimming .  Since we haven't been anywhere to do any sightseeing as yet, I will share some of the neat wood carved statues throughout the park and a neat vegetable garden on the grounds.

The carved eagles were in front of the office as you entered the campground.

Bucky Beaver!

That's our RV through the trees.

The garden has vegetables and flowers.  It ran along side the road on the                                                       entrance to the campground.

Tomorrow we are headed towards Kansas City, MO for another quick overnight stay.  Since we have been this route before, we decided to head on further north and west as quickly as possible.
