Along Our Path

We have been traveling around 300 to 400 miles a day for the past 5 days.  We are now in Wyoming.  We spent one whole day traveling from one side of South Dakota to the other! Saw a lot of corn fields!
Since we haven't been doing any sightseeing yet, I thought I would post some of the interesting and or different things we have seen along the way.

This was a large truck hauling an enormous Idaho potato.  I did a little research and found out it is a Traveling Idaho Potato.

The worlds largest potato on wheels will travel close to 19,000 miles and visit 26 states in 5 months with a fresh new look and an important Heart-Health message for women.

He came around us so quick, I just barely had time to take this picture. We tried to catch up to him to get a better picture, but he was traveling much faster than us even though the truck with potato is over 6 ton.

Click on the link below to see a bigger and better pic of truck.

We saw many miles of farmland.  Really liked the old farmhouses.

Saw this T-Rex in the middle of nowhere along I-90 in South Dakota

This was our view from a rest area.  We ended up going over the bridge.

From a distance this looked like a very low flying plane.

Really interesting sculptures at rest areas in South Dakota.

Wind Turbine Blades

We kept seeing these blades being transported from west to east as we traveled along I-90.  When we reached our destination in Mitchell, SD, we saw where the Mitchell Technical Institute trained people for working on these blades.  They had one displayed along the highway in front of the institute.

We stayed at a Wal-Mart parking lot one night.  It ended up being one of the better nights sleep.  There were no trains nearby or unruly campers.   We were also able to stock up on more supplies.  Worked out really good.   The next night we stayed at a Cabella's parking lot with lots of other RVers and truckers.
