Cheyenne, WY - Terry Bison Ranch and RV Park

We were lucky to find an spot in any RV park in the area due to "Cheyenne Frontier Days" coming up on that weekend. Cheyenne hosts a Rodeo, chuck wagon races, evening night shows with big entertainers, etc.  It's a really big event with real cowboys and cowgirls attending from miles away.

We were able to get a space at the Terry Bison Ranch located just south of Cheyenne for the night. This is a working bison ranch with an RV park, The Senator's Restaurant (Bobby Flay and Food Network claimed it to have the best burgers in Wyoming)......I had one and can say that it was very GOOD!  Alan had his first Bison Burger there.  It was also very good.  The ranch has lots of activities for young and old.  There are Bison Train Tours, horseback riding, pony rides, ATV tours, fishing, and the list goes on.

We walked over to the restaurant that evening for dinner and they happened to have some live entertainment.   The ranch owner was also there and was playing his guitar.

At first glance the restaurant didn't look all that great, but in keeping with the old town decor, it fit right in.  The inside was really nice.

Live entertainment was really good.  They played and sang a few Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Bob Seger songs.....plus many more.

A little history that was on the back of a menu.  Seems that President Theodore Roosevelt stayed at the Ranch .

The office and gift shops had that "old cowboy town look".

And of course I can't seem to stay off the photo ops!    Just glad that it was not a mechanical buffalo!

We left Cheyenne for our next overnight stay in Thermopolis, Wy.  The drive from Shoshone, WY to Thermopolis, WY was breathtaking!  This was a picture that I took from a distance headed to the "canyon drive".  Little did I know then what a sight we would see.

That yellow sign says "3 tunnels ahead".   We would have been worried about fitting through that opening if we hadn't seen semi trucks coming out.

The pictures do not do this drive justice!  It was truly beautiful!
